Lean Forum – 2nd Lean Healthcare Forum

SPEAKERS

Over 220 delegates including a number from other countries attended the second Lean Healthcare Forum – once again being drawn from NHS Trusts, Health Authorities and improvement agencies.

The delegates heard from the pioneering Bolton Hospital how, in the NHS, committed staff struggle to deliver good care within a set of broken processes and how lean can help them to see the hidden problems and waste and create a safe, clean, calm work environment by turning every staff member into a problem-solver every day.

The subsequent breakout discussion groups allowed delegates to pick two from a choice of five themes which included applying lean pathology, radiology and also in primary care. The final plenary told the inspiring story of the lean journey at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, Australia.
