1st Lean Healthcare Forum - January 2006

Summary

lean Healthcare Forum This First Lean Healthcare Forum in Solihull attracted over 230 delegates from 36 different NHS Hospital Trusts, 20 different Strategic Health Authorities and from a range of primary care trusts, improvement bodies and specialist theraputic areas.

In the morning’s plenary session six different speakers illustrated, with case examples, the opportunity that Lean offers for improving the healthcare system by reducing mortality and medical errors while freeing up capacity and time. After lunch there were breakout discussion sessions for those getting started on their lean journey and those seeking to create end to end patient flows. The forum closed with another plenary to discuss with policy makers and planners the next steps for lean healthcare.
