Mapping to See: A Value Stream Improvement Kit for the Office and Services is the latest training solution from LEI. It’s based on the value stream improvement project experience of some of the most seasoned veterans working in Lean today. The process and tools contained in this kit have been developed over hundreds of projects in virtually every industry. It’s designed to bring this proven approach to office and service environments in companies of all sizes in the most cost-effective way possible.

The Mapping to See Kit (MTS) is based on the same easy-to-use format as our very successful Training To See Kit, introduced in 2000, but provides even more help for both the new and experienced trainer/facilitator. The MTS Kit includes everything that you need to:

Select and scope a Value Stream Improvement (VSI) Project that really matters to the business.
Conduct a training workshop for all of the key people in the VSI project that produces a Current State Map with problems in the process flow clearly identified, a vision of the Future State that is reviewed by leadership and a detailed action plan with a management commitment to support the recommended value stream changes.
Produce a 60 to 90 day implementation plan that creates meaningful, sustained business results.

The kit helps you to train people in all parts of a VSI project and not just Value-Stream Mapping (VSM). Like any good tool, VSM is only as good as the purpose it serves. The kit is based on the principle that VSM will have its greatest impact only when it helps real people dramatically improve real value streams that have a real impact on the heart of their business. In the kit we've provided you with both the blueprint AND the construction tools.

The kit is the most efficient way to get as many people as possible trained properly to conduct VSI projects in their part of the business. For the purchase price of £1,800 you have everything you need to train up to 20 people, which translates to the initial training cost of $175 per person. By purchasing additional MTS Participant Guides you can deliver consistent VSI project training at all levels of your organization.

The MTS Kit includes:

	Facilitator Guide Everything you need to plan and deliver the training necessary to execute a Value Stream Improvement project. The guide includes: Recommended session designs that have been tested and proven in hundreds of project situations and functional areas. Step-by-step training delivery instructions that tell you what to show, do, and say. Key learning points for every visual and exercise. Optional scripted comments that may be particularly helpful when you deliver the materials for the first time. Slides for every concept and step in a VSI Project/VSM Workshop designed in LEI’s professional, yet engaging style. Optional visuals for customized presentations to accommodate different project situations and audiences. In-depth VSI Project/VSM content for further reading.
	Presentation Materials CD Includes all of the PowerPoint slides used in every phase of the project and workshop divided into five decks: Project Preparation Module 1: Current-State Mapping Module 2: Future-State Mapping Module 3: Implementation Planning Project Preparation Deep Dive Resource Visuals Within each section are working Word and Excel template versions of every form, worksheet or table used in every phase of a VSI Project!
	Participant Guides Includes all of the slides, handouts and worksheets used in the VSM Workshop (165 pages). Additional copies of the Mapping To See Participant Guide may be purchased separately
	Mapping to See Process Overview DVD A 20-minute DVD, with Jim Womack, Founder and Chairman of LEI and Guy Parsons of the Mapping to See Development Team. It provides a graphical overview of the entire VSI process with invaluable facilitator/team tips. It shows the entire process played out, while giving a very clear description of the expected outcomes of every major step along the way. It demystifies both the process and a facilitator’s critical role in it. Great for workshop participants as well.
	Value Stream Mapping Sheets There is still no substitute for participants putting pencil to paper and trying their own first rough versions of a Value Stream Map. 11 x 17 revised Mapping Pads include icons for both office/service and manufacturing VSM applications.
	Starter Lean Library A collection of Lean essentials including, Lean Thinking; Lean Solutions; and the Lean Lexicon, a graphical glossary of key lean terms and concepts.
	Presentation Sheets Ideal for drawing larger Value Stream Maps, these presentation sheets use static cling to adhere to nearly every indoor surface. 40 sheets come on a roll and are packed in a compact box for easy travel.
	Kit Carrying Case A generously sized and rugged carrying bag that holds the entire kit, with room for additional workshop supplies.
