Since the publication of Making Hospitals Work last summer we have become aware that several hospitals are also convinced that improving end-to-end patient journeys and reducing length of stay is the most promising route to improving hospital performance in the current circumstances.

We are also sure that although the technical issues in linking activities and establishing real time visual management of the end-to-end journey are now understood we still have a lot to learn about how to create the value stream management system to lead and sustain it. This is not so easy to do and such an initiative has to be led from within each hospital. However if we join together and our share knowledge and experiences we believe we can accelerate progress, create more practical examples and deepen the knowledge base so other hospitals learn how to do this.

Our proposal is that up to six hospitals join together and meet once every two months over a year, rotating between sites, to share plans and progress and to discuss results and difficulties. LEA will facilitate these working meetings and in addition support each hospital with one day a month of on-site coaching, training and mentoring of the internal team and their executive sponsors, plus remote support by phone and email in between.

If your hospitals is interested in joining this Door-to-Door Club please let us know by phone or email.
