Enhance your Lean Education - L.E.A announce 2016 Lean Workshops

We are very pleased to announce our calendar of events until December 2016.

We will be running a selection of our Lean Workshops developed around our Lean workbooks and exploring the elements of the Lean Transformation Framework.

A3 Thinking (Managing to Learn) - 1 Day Introduction

Our A3 Thinking workshop is designed around the bestselling workbook by John Shook and published by Lean Enterprise Institute.

This workshop teaches participants:

  • Greater understanding of PDCA and the A3 problem solving process
  • Know when to use A3 Problem Solving or basic 3c problem solving
  • In-depth practice in:
    • Reading & Reviewing A3’s
    • Coaching others in developing their problem solving capability

The lessons learnt during this workshop fit within each of the five elements of the Lean Transformation Framework

Policy Deployment – Getting the Right Things Done

Policy deployment, or hoshin kanri, is more than just a strategic planning system. Executed well it engages, motivates and involves everyone within the organisation in achieving sustainable improvements in the way the business performs.

Through instruction, small group discussions and exercises, the workshop participants will:

  • Begin to think through how to apply and or develop the process in their organisation.

Introduction to the Lean Transformation Framework

The Lean Transformation Framework, shared by John Shook of the Lean Enterprise Institute, is the method in which the Lean Enterprise Academy and members of our Lean Global Network have been developing to guide transformations with our partner companies, large and small, across a wide range of industries.

  • Learn about Lean from a different perspective, one that goes beyond tools & events
  • Learn about the key elements of a successful Lean transformation
  • Learn how to refine future transformation plans to overcome
  • Discuss and reflect on how to go beyond where they are now – to close the next set of gaps in the organisation

Again based around the bestselling workbook by John Shook, this workshop takes a deeper dive into A3 Thinking and how to coach others.

Through instruction, small group discussions and exercises, the workshop participants will learn:

  • The basic formats of A3s and uses of the A3 as a management process, and,
  • The three basic roles of the A3 process: 
    • Writing an A3 (the Author/Owner)
    • Reading A3s (the Responder)
    • Coaching others about their A3s (the Coach)
  • To have greater understanding of PDCA and the problem solving process
  • To know when to use A3 Problem Solving or basic 3c problem solving
  • In-depth practice of reading and reviewing A3’s 
    • Developing A3 Problem Solving Worksheets
    • Coaching others in developing their problem solving capability
