The idea behind Lean Award is to highlight the focus to the Lean philosophy of collaborative leadership and employee-driven innovation.

The award is to recognize companies that have adopted lean techniques and thinking, who inspire more companies to adopt this approach and methodology.

The candidates for this year’s lean business has undergone two rounds of evaluation by a committee consisting of some of the nation’s foremost Lean experts. Three companies were shortlisted: REC Wafer at Porsgrunn, University Hospital of North Norway and Toyota Jaeger Automobil.

Industry and Trade Minister Trond Giske was present at the conference for the presentation of the award, which this year went to Jaeger Automobil.

Upon receipt of the award the Managing Director Torgeir Halvorsen highlighted customer importance. He argued that Toyota’s strong focus on continually improving the purchase and ownership experience of the driver is of all improvements. Halvorsen also thanked the employees for their great effort and commitment, and expressed pride in being voted the best Lean company.
